Oh what sweet torture
This immense longing to be by your side
I have known but a morsel
Of what it is to be with you
And yet that tiny bit
Has created such a craving.
You are like a favorite dessert
Prepared only at Holiday
Once or twice a year
Leaving you the rest of the days
To remember the wonderful aroma
To recall the delicious taste
To reminisce on the feeling of contentment
Left behind when you partake of the treasure
And to dream of experiencing it again
Oh what sweet torture.
