a place that I reserve for just a few.
Or if I said I need you there, and placed you in that part ...
what would you say? Or would I hear from you?

Would that cause you to back away ... think we can't be friends?
Or will you let me know just how you feel?
No matter what you choose to say, I'd rather not pretend ...
I'd much prefer you knowing I am real!

And if you hear me speak my mind, please listen, more than hear ...
you'll be surprised at what's between the lines.
Don't be afraid to ask me what I mean, if I'm not clear ...
you know I want it crystal in your mind.

But then again, I may not say what's really here inside ...
I have this simple fear of losing you.
The smile on my heart, without a doubt, I will not hide ...
this fact alone will keep our friendship true!
