I like being alone
But when did being alone
Become such a lonely place?
Was it the moment I left your side
Or did I find this place
One memory at a time?
For so very long
I thought alone would be so good
I wished for it, dreamed of it,
Made plans for the day it would be
But suddenly I am aware
Of just how wonderful companionship is
How it feels to enjoy
The simple presence of someone else
In the room.
How it feels each morning
To awaken
Longing to see that sleepy smile
I know now
That it can be a good thing
To have someone who cares
When you want to self destruct
And now I want that someone in my life
I miss you
And I don't like being alone....
